Alexandria Highlights Tour from Alexandria

Start your tour with a visit to the famous Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, one of Alexandria’s most remarkable archaeological sites. Dating back to the 1st century AD, this underground necropolis is the largest Roman burial site discovered in Egypt and showcases a unique blend of Ancient Egyptian, Greek, and Roman artistic traditions.

Continue to Pompey’s Pillar, one of the largest Roman monuments in Egypt. Standing approximately 27 meters high, the granite column was erected in honor of Emperor Diocletian in the 3rd century AD. Nearby, you can also see two granite sphinx statues dating back to the Ptolemaic period.

Next, visit the impressive Citadel of Qaitbay, a 15th-century fortress built by Sultan Al-Ashraf Qaitbay on the exact site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The citadel offers stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea and represents one of Egypt’s most important coastal fortifications.

After lunch, visit the world-famous Bibliotheca Alexandrina, a modern architectural masterpiece inaugurated in 2002. Built to revive the legacy of the ancient Library of Alexandria, the complex houses millions of books, rare manuscripts, museums, and cultural exhibitions, serving as a global center for knowledge and dialogue.
